Kutu Pty. Ltd., or Kutu Systems is company that focusses on embedded systems that require extensive FPGA or DSP support to achieve real-time performance. Kutu has design experience in broadcast video, aviation measuring equipment, video and audio processing, high speed signal acquisition systems and biomedical equipment. We specialise in VHDL design with Xilinx (www.xilinx.com) FPGA’s, and embedded Linux systems on Cortex-A8 and A9 processors.

What is Kutu?

The word “Kutu” means small in several different Asian and African languages. The design focus of Kutu Systems is to design small, efficient modules that are hand optimised to maximise the capability of FPGA and processor cores. We prefer to build our own functions where possible and rely on VHDL behavourial modelling to build robust reliable systems. Keeping designs small has flow on effects that improve testability, reliability and performance.

Who is Kutu?

Kutu Systems design work is primarily done by Dr. Greg Smart who has 20 years of experience in DSP, FPGA and embedded systems.
